There are eleven ways to get transformed by Renewing Our Mind - Rom. 12:1-3
1. RESURRENDER
- Renewal begins by offering up our whole body, soul, mind and spirit to
the Lord. Romans 12:1 urge us to present our bodies as a living sacrifice.
Every day we are required to submit our mind, will and emotions to align with
the purposes of God.
2. REJOICE
in the Lord always - Nehemiah 8:10, “Do not be grieved, for the joy of the LORD
is your strength." We find our strength through the joy of the Lord. He
renews our hearts desire and fulfills them.
3. REMEMBER
- the good things you have in Christ. Do not forget all his benefits. Remember
the past victories, the way he has led, the blessings he has showered, the deliverances
he wrought, the healings and the encouragements.Remember
God’s past faithfulness in times of difficulties. Remember all his promises.
4. RECKON -
yourself as dead to old sinful desires but alive to God in Christ Jesus “Romans
6:11”.Consider that
you are a new creation, that you are the Righteousness of God in Christ Jesus.
5. RECONSIDER
- all of the negative thinking in the past and reprogram your thinking to
what is excellent, good, honorable, right, true, and worthy of praise. Reconsider
the effects that renewal brings in leading us to the will of God. We will gain
a greater sense of God’s favor and of those who call upon the Lord from a pure
heart. We will find ourselves living with greater love, joy, peace, patience,
kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness and self-control.
6. REPLACE -
Put off the old man and Put on the new man. "Put away anger, jealousy,
wrath, slander and clamor and put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility,
gentleness and patience, bearing with one another, forgiving each other just as
God in Christ has forgiven you” (Eph. 4:22-32). “Let God’s word dwell in you
richly, teaching and admonishing one another with songs and hymns and spiritual
songs, singing and making melody in your hearts to the Lord. And whatever you
do, do it all in the name and the authority of Jesus" (Col. 3:16-17).
7. REALIZE
- God’s will for your life, what is best in all situations. "In everything
by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your request be made known to
God and the peace of God that passes all comprehension will guard your hearts
and mind in Christ Jesus" (Phil. 4:6-7). Prayer helps perceive God’s will.
8. RECONCILE
- with those who are in conflict with you just as Christ reconciled us to
God through the cross (Eph 2:15, 16). Express concern and kindness to those who
are least deserving of it. Bless those who persecute you and pray for those who
try to do you harm. Be liberal in your love with expressions of thankfulness,
warmth and support for their needs as far as it is possible.
9. RESIST -
the conformity to the world (Rom 12:2). Do not conform to the patterns of the
world with its lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes and boastful pride of life.
10.
RECHARGE your spirit with His grace. "For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who
is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but
to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith." (Rom. 12:3). We need the
recharging of God’s grace given through the edification, encouragement and
enrichment of other members of Christ’s body and their spiritual gifts.
11. RETHINK
the best ways that you match your spiritual gifts with others who can best
complement your own. Ask the Lord to reassign you to places, people and
ministries where you can have the best fit with your gifts and the spiritual
gifts and talents of others.
